Continuous Ring Cooldown Mechanism Change
Current Mechanism
- Cooldown triggers when the ring is equipped
- 3-minute cooldown applies regardless of previous equipment state
Why It's Problematic
- Players often use different gear setups for farming/boss loot rooms and boss fights
- Switching to a loot preset in boss rooms is common for efficiency (higher drop rate)
- Each preset change triggers the 3-minute cooldown, even if returning to the same ring
- This forces players to either wait out cooldowns or play sub-optimally
Proposed Changes (Dual Suggestion)
Option 1: Unequip Cooldown
Trigger the cooldown when the Continuous Ring is unequipped, similar to other rings.
Pros:
- Consistent with other ring mechanics (most notably switching ROR/WJ)
- Likely be off cd or close to it by being ready for next boss
- (I think) Simpler to implement and understand
Cons:
- May still cause issues with rapid preset switching (Maybe?)
Option 2: Conditional Cooldown
Trigger the cooldown only if a different Oz ring was equipped before equipping the Continuous Ring.
Pros:
- Eliminates unnecessary cooldowns when switching presets
- Allows flexible use of the Continuous Ring in various situations
- Optimizes gameplay
Cons:
- (I think) More complex to implement
