But it's 2024, and crypto can and is used and purchased in practically every store, including big chains.It is valid that this would come at a cost of development time and possibly future problems, however lack of a non-crypto donation option turns a lot of people off, myself included, from donating.

You no longer need to understand crypto or even know what it is (although understanding it is important for your own education and for your future)
You can quite literally open a coinbase account, add balance (eth, usdc, whatever) using your debit card or bank account, and connect that to the windows the donor point NPC opens. From there, you just pay, and you're good to go.
It's like 3 to 4 more button clicks than traditional checkout, where you put your card info and click "buy" in any store.
